so, i got an idea that's been rattling around in my head for a while now, and i want to try it out.

let's all make a map together, but all on our own. confusing? i'll explain:

  1. first of all, i'll make templates for each section of the map, it will most likely be a cube with a couple openings for doors, pathways to the surrounding areas, that sort of thing.
  2. when you sign up, you will receive a vmf file with your "box". there may be special instructions that go along with it, like "spawn area in back-left corner", "map ends in this cell", or "cell must contain control point named 'CP_A'". that sort of thing.
  3. you may construct your portion of the map however you like, but you may not consult the other users on what they are doing.


the end result will be a patchwork map that a lot of people helped create, sound like fun?

I'd say CP, or Payload. With multiple areas, KOTH, CTF, Arena, etc, don't work.

CP push wouldn't be very good if we are having... 4 people do it? That means at least 4 distinct areas. In push CP maps there are 3 usually. I.E. Blu base CP, blu 2nd cp, mid. Red's base is the same as blu's.

ok, i'm going to start creating the general shape of the map tonight. it's going to be a payload. there will be 4 areas in the map in total. be sure to dibs the part you want.
  1. start/ blue spawn
  2. second area
  3. third area
  4. final area

you don't have to make the cart go right through the center of the map, please don't actually. the spawn rooms will shift forward one every time the area of the map progresses. if you want any fancy entity work done (doors, special effects, weird logic stuff, etc...) and you don't know how to do it, let me know beforehand so i can help you out/do it for you. additional area specific instructions will be included with each block of the map.

3rd area for me, plz. Probably don't need spawns every area unless they BIG. Probably one in area 2 or 3 would suffice. (Like badwater)
