Yea so my boss just confirmed he bought me an 80GB SSD for my system! I can't freakin wait. Once it gets here I may be down for a few hours whilst I clone myself over. Should be pretty slick.

Sorry for "bragging" but I had to scream it to someone who can understand why I'm so excited. Very Happy

Ouch.

I run a quad core i7 2.8 Ghz with 4GB of RAM. Currently with a raptor drive but I can't wait for the SSD.

I hope to buy some parts for a new computer with around $400, and give it to my friend Lars, (commanderz, he's played a couple times with us) and have him build it for me, seeing as he's done that before. I'm going for windows 7, 4 gb ram, a decent GPU, a tri or quad core. Should be much better.

SSD doesn't brake due to falling while reading/writing...
I NEED ONE OF THOSE!

Also, my specs since we are all bragging about them (1 year old laptop alert!):
Type: HP Pavilion DV-6 1020ED.
Processor: Intel Dual Core 2 T6400 @ 2.0GHz.
RAM: 4GB of DDR2 RAM.
Storage: 320GB Hard drive (50gb left)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS, 512 MB, 15.6" screen (720p HD), HDMI port, VGA port.
Sound: Altec Lansing speakers, 2 jack out, 1 jack in, hdmi.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, pirate edition (legal one was vista).
Other stuff no one cares about: WiFi, Bluetooth, Infrared + remote control, DVD Dual layer burner + lightscribe (never used it), build-in card reader, 3 years of warenty.

Greezy, I don't know why it runs. But it does, at around 25-35 FPS on stock maps after about 5 minutes worth of solid lag.

I don't know how I do it. I do run medium-low settings, and recently I've started using gamebooster. It's not super uber smooth, but it must be over 24 FPS because I can't really see the lag. Anyhoo, the real problem is CONNECTION TIME. Depending on what map the server is running, it takes me 30 seconds to 15 minutes to connect. It's a pain in the ass.

I also have a crappy old single core config because my dual core got stolen by burglars Mad
But a lot is compensated by my old fashioned 512MB AGP card so i still get 100FPS but only when we have 20 players it starts dropping badly. So i hope to upgrade my system in time.

I really don't see the appeal of SSD's. I'm perfectly fine with my moving parts.
