Why do you need to borrows your dad's weapons. Actually why do you need weapons at home?

Well, the only type of weapon I have is a steel bat under my bed. But James lives in Florida, not new Jersey. I think I'm the only one who lives in new jersey here.

what many people on the left side of the political spectrum don't understand is that the only thing that makes anything a weapon is the intent behind using it. A pencil can be a weapon in the hands of an emotionally compromised person.

what the right side of the political spectrum doesn't understand is that owning guns is not a "right", it is a privilege. they are tools, but when used irresponsibly they cause harm. just like cars. if you drive irresponsibly, your privilege to drive gets taken away.

I'm not saying that all liberals are bad (I'm liberal personally)

but there are a shit ton of liberal faggots

I'm a socialist (even a SP-member not my political view is unrelated) and I agree that civilians should be able to get a gun if they have a good reason for it. I I just don't feel comfortable with the idea that every whackjob can get a gun. Luckily for me here in the Netherlands we have a very strict weapon/gun law. We divide weapons into 4 categories and each comes with their set of rules with one global rule unless stated different; owning a weapon is okay but carrying it is illegal.
Category 1; Forbidden for everyone: look-a-likes of real weapons, ballistic knifes, expandable batons, brass knuckles etc.
Category 2; Only for government use and a very select group of people: automatic weapons, tasers, pepperspray etc.
Category 3; unwanted yet legal to own for anyone with a permit*: all other weapons.
Category 4: legal to own by everyone; swords, batons, crossbows, harpoons, paintballguns, flare guns etc
*Permits are only given to mentally stable people with a proper reason to own a gun, like hunting or shooting at a shooting range

Anyway I feel that this is a decent system, although I have to admit that I would love to go shooting some time... at a range of course

Firing guns are fun. Disassembling, cleaning, changing components of firearms is actually pretty fun too. Guns are a hobby, the same way it is for us who like to play games. The only thing that prevents everyone from being gamers is a generational bias.
