Alright so me and Greezy talked about how we can get the scrim train rollin. We noticed it's hard to get our team together to practice, and when we do pugs the starters of the scrimteam are spread across different teams to prevent stacking, so they don't get much team practice their either.

The ideal way we figured of getting to play in the same team as competitive players would be via www.tf2lobby.com
First you need a lobby account so go there and make one, the step most people have problems with is that in the registration process you are given a code, you must copy/paste that code in your steam profile page before making the account! Just copy/paste it anywhere in your profile and when your tf2lobby account is created you can remove it again.

You don't have to be a scrimteam member or even a starter player, every PULP member is welcome to join this match as long as we don't have more then 6 players and of course we play in the same team. The way it works is that Greezy and Eraserhead can make a PULP lobby. This lobby is a virtual space which displays the given name and map on the tf2lobby website. The people who are online in the lobby will then join our lobby and pick a team and class. When there are 12 players the match will begin and TF2lobby will configure the VIP server and connect all the players. NOTICE: The password will be randomly changed by tf2lobby and be displayed in the lobby room, so the password is not what you are used too! After the lobby game it's reverted back to normal.

We will host at least 1, but possibly 2 or 3 games. After the match is done just return to the lobby where Eraser or Greezy will make a new PULP lobby. Prepare to get your asses kicked because the players in the tf2lobby are competitive players but it will be good practice. This is the first event in a series of new events we will organize at different times, hopefully at least 2-3 per week. It should be easier to organize since we only need 6 players.

So this FRIDAY Lobby Competitive event was more of a GOD LIKE Comeptitve kind of thing. We all connected, and we were determined to own, all 6 of us, James, Gibbo, Eraser, Google, Rusty and me, and we had Tidelag on the opposing team to fill that last slot. Anyways, min pass by, seriously, no exaggaration involved, there whole team had 5 domination next to there name, INCLUDING the Medic.
All I could say is that tf2lobby made me feel like the newbiest player on the planet. And those scout, they only shot me twice and I died wtf!? Killed me within 1 second.

Yea 5-0 freight and 5-0 Granary. We did capture the mid cp a few times but we did not get further then that. So what did we do wrong guys?

It's what they did right .

I think our problem may have been that we took them on headfirst. We needed to play more defense. Even the way we ran in as a team. They constantly waited for us to run in and killed us then advanced. Next time wait for them to come to us and defend as a team?

The whole way that I see the game is played now is super defensively. If you want to win, everyone needs to actually know EXACTLY where they are supposed to be patrolling on a map. You just defend and defend and wait for an uber, and that's the only way to do it. Occasionally, you can send a scout back to try and kill their medic, at which point you can rush in, but that's about it.

I haven't seen any of the matches, but my estimate would be that you guys were far too aggressive as a team. Defending is always easier than attacking. Perhaps you didn't move in without an uber? From my experience, that appears to be the only way teams push. Until they get an uber, they hold their positions and just spam around corners.

We got owned, and by we got owned, I mean we were actually NEWBS, Real Authentic NEWBS when we played them. Feels like this is my first time playing TF2 when I played in that lobby event.

Greezy, i think you are right. They used an uber each time to capture either cp4 or cp5. Their scouts kept flanking us, especially on Freight. I remember standing on the middle point with Jameless and Gibbo while scouts were coming from behind and rockets were coming from the front, i felt helpless as medic

@Taboo, we fought random lobby players except for tidelag. He told us their demoman was a div3 league player. You can see all the stats for both matches here:
