there should be a change made where only admins can open a voteban. Not random ass players who go on the server.

that kind of defeats the purpose of a voteban, now doesn't it?

if there were a situation where a ban was needed and an admin was present, the admin should just ban they guy, no vote needed. the voteban exists so that players can take justice into their own hands when an admin is not available.

that being said, voteban abusers should be reported and dealt with accordingly.

Hey Ajorn23. Noticed there was a 30 min ban on Sourcebans for an acorn22.

I get the impression you were dicking around without admins around and thought you could get away with it. What'd you do?

Why would the admin need access to a voteban command if he can just ban the person on the spot? I agree with what Adam said also.

We already had this discussion before in another thread. The outcome was as following: Needing an admin to start a votekick/ban renders the vote itself useless since admins can already kick/ban players by default. The votekick/ban is there for the times when there are in fact no admins in-game nor available for a quick kick/ban.

Normal English: Admisn can kick/ban right away, votekick.ban is for normal users when there are no admins on.

Yeah Greezy, some guy named acorn22 got votebanned for 30 minutes the other day, but another guy named ajorn23 posts about it. There's no similarity or coincidence at all, hahaha...

I don't know if this is possible, but maybe votekick a person, and then if they rejoin and are still a problem, that's when voteban is available?

Votekick a player 3 times and it'll autoban on the 3rd kick, unless James changed it
