False malware warning
Afro just notified me that he received a malware warning while browsing the Pulp forums. After looking at the Google report (found here) it turns out that there was one link to a potential malware site int he past 90 days. However since I haven't noticed any bad links recently my guess is that it was caused by the ads. What ads, well if you turn off your ad-blocker and sign out you get Google Ad-sense ads so yeah, those ads.
Currently this message has only been seen on Google Chrome while other browsers claim the forums to be safe. My anti-virus does a lot but what it does not do is warn me about malware when I browse the forums and since I am using NOD I officially claim the site to be safe
tl;dr: false positive, site and forums are safe. Also Afro does not know how to make a screenshot.

Or just print screen and paste in an image editor like I always do. 9/10 times I need to censor things so yeah :p
Re: False malware warning
This happened to me as well while I was still logged into the forums. I clicked on one of the topics and chrome warned me.

Re: False malware warning
Still didn't get the warning on Firefox 3.6, Firefox 4 beta1 nor IE8 (dont have any other browsers). Still, even if there is some link to malware somewhere I'm pretty sure it wont affect any of us. Pretty sure everyone here knows to use an anti-virus...

I'm going to go ahead and say that's a lose because you have an insecure computer.

Re: False malware warning
I get it elsewhere but, not on here. I'm not dumb I usually don't have viruses on my computer and I don't use active antivirus..

Yeah, normally you can check if a page is on a malware list on http://www.1227.com and I don't see this site when searching.

Re: False malware warning
Ok so let me clear up what is happening here. If you look at the source code for any page in our forum, you will see that ads are loaded in the background. But since we choose not to show them when you are logged in, they simply don't display. They still get loaded though. Chrome takes a look at any page that is loaded including the ads. If an ad tries to load an adware cookie that takes information from what sites you are on to show you ads more in tune with the type of browsing you do, chrome warns you calling it malware.
tl;dr: Ads get loaded. Chrome is warning you of the info the ads are keeping about you. No need to worry.

Re: False malware warning
Am I the only one seeing the irony of Google warning that out forums are infected with malicious links which come from the ads THEY show?
