Of we don't have to, Valve is strongly against having people pay for updates. In fact because of this they dont update the xbox version of TF2 because MS demands Valve to pay them to ship updates ($5 for each update). So yeah, they dont have custom maps, limited servers and only stock weapons xD Maybe they'll ship an update after the 'final' update but I doubt it, besides who plays TF2 on console anyway?
