Heheh, Mac newbs.
Tbh, I think Steam should have forgotten about Mac; users of Mac do not deserve good things.

Who plays games on Mac, anyways? Oh, you five over there? Cool.
But honestly, it sounds like this isn't a huge pain for Valve. They can use the same games for either Mac or PC and it can only expand their customer base. It's a win win for them.

Ow no, that guy in black got an inkbomb from the presents plugin :o
anyway, is it the engi? Because I thought that mac user engineers would build Portal styled sentry guns
Still, gaming on mac is kinda rare. Okay, they have WOW, Spore, HL2 but that's about it. So just think of the profits!
Games on mac = new usergroup to sell to = MORE PROFIT!
Also, the best thing about this is that it means that Steam no longer requires that shitty browser called Internet Exploder (no not explorer). I allready though the Steam Beta became faster with browsing, now I know the reason :p

Mac newbs? Let me guess, you have never used one in your whole life and have made this opinion from what others say. Anyway, I dont do flamewars for they are ment to be held by 14 year olds.ninji wrote:Heheh, Mac newbs.

I don't want to start a flame war either, but I would like to say that the main contributor for my dislike of Mac's stem from the fact that Apple produces them. Apple has done nothing innovative, all they do is make things shiny and over price them. Not to mention the iPod is so limited because of the way Apple wants their devices to mingle with only their programs. That is why I have a Creative Zen. You can drag drop files, you can use WMP or you can use their device manager. It also supports many file formats.Socrates187 wrote:Sgt Pepper wrote:Ow no, that guy in black got an inkbomb from the presents plugin :o

Re: i ran into one of the mac tf2 beta testers
I'm not a Mac person myself mostly due to the fact that their stuff is so expensive. I want to try it out, but the price is keeping me back from actually doing so. And then there is the other thing, compare the hardware from a Mac with a PC of the same price and you'll often save $500 just by buying the PC. So would you buy the PC? NO, because the hardware is pretty much outdated², no outdated³!ninji wrote:I don't want to start a flame war either, but I would like to say that the main contributor for my dislike of Mac's stem from the fact that Apple produces them. as for iPod, iPhone etc, they are all hypes and I never used any of them. I have always had Sony Ericson Walkman/Cybershot Phones. They have a decent mediaplayer which is good ennouh for me. Now I have a HTC which comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 and a custom shell (thank god). That custom shell has an awesome mediaplayer that plays most files perfectly, best thing is that if I want to play MOAR filetypes, I could just instal a new mediaplayer :p
God I love my smartphone
Edit: Steam uses/used IE as the browser for community and storepages which was why Steam was Windows only (and why you would have to instal both steam and IE on WINE). It also gets used for Message of the Day pages in TF2. During the first version I used 2 transparent PNG's for it. Eraserhead never updated from IE6 (thus no transparrency support) which caused him to see only a black square. Ow well, who updates IE if he doesn't use it?
