I'm back from the Army!
This was the best trip I've ever done. I'll tell you what we did on the trip soon. It was also very challenging at times. There were a few people who left the camp, due to the fact that they thought they were really tough, and they just pussied out of nearly all of the challenges, that the ARMY threw at us.
I am interested in joining the Frontlines of the army which is combat. I'm also interested in joining the Royal Engineers. I'm always making things and drawing things. If I draw something that is, either made from metal or wood, I dont just let it go, I make it. It doesn't take me long.
The activities we did were:
Sentry Duty
Camping outside
Rations
Coded References alphabet for eg: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, etc
Crawling with/without Rifles
Running for 2 miles with a heavy backpack on
Paintballing
Stealth missions against the real ARMY members
Escape and Evasion missions

Re: I'm back from the Army!
Have you also considered the risks of the frontlines Jonesie? Losing a leg? Losing an eye? Getting severe burns? Being paralyzed?
Don't want to get you down, but i always looked at the army as a last resort. If you have any brains then don't do it. Of course it can give you a very valuable lesson on life and may shape you as a person but just be aware of the risks. A friend of mine went to Afghanistan to fight there, the stories i have heard do not sound pretty or adventurous. He hasn't improved in a good way either if you ask me, but of course every individual is different.
Don't want to hold you back bro, but be wise.
What do royal engineers do?

What do royal engineers do?
This is too easy....
They build sentries and dispensers, but not teleporters because those don't exist god damn it!
But yea, Jonesie, the Army sounds like a blast but it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Go for something not in the line of fire, buddy.
Re: I'm back from the Army!
Kinda agree with Eraserhead on this. Not saying that all the people in the army are brainless bunches of muscles, but if you have the brains you're better off in a place where you can use then for good. Then again, even if you graduate from MIT you still have to fire guns.
They build dispensers. They build and repair stuff?

Well the Royal Engineers work in and FOR the army. All they do is they go around the world to build bridges and all kinds of different things. Thats what I want to be. But, if I want to do that, I have to train to be a Soldier for a year. I need to look after myself then. I can do that already.
I appreciate that you guys dont want me to go in the army, but, isn't this a stage of growing up, making your own decisions, I have thought about it. Thats why I would most likely go in the Royal Engineers OR the Police Force! Which would you rather me do?

Re: I'm back from the Army!
Wait... aren't you fourteen? Not trying to be an asshole about your age, just that maybe you should wait a few years before deciding on this? Also, I'm not sure how the military works in other countries so maybe this is the age to apply. But yea, it's your life do whatever you want.
Re: I'm back from the Army!
Well if i would have to choose i would go with the royal engineers for sure. You can learn skills there that are useful outside the army as well. Police? Naaaah!
Re: I'm back from the Army!
I would say Police for soem reason, but not as a streetofficor, as a detective!
Re: I'm back from the Army!
What about in the SWAT Team?! Yes, we have those in Britain. There mainly for drug busts and raids and potentially armed and dangerous people!

Hah why don't you go in the SAS Jonesie. That special British force famous all over the world.
SWAT team, do you want to die soon? go there. also drop your girlfriend because no woman wants a SWAT team member as boyfriend.
