Im having a problem with my computer
This may sound pretty bad, but i cant seem to turn off my computer. I've had it for 6 years, and its only ever turned off if i rip it out of the wall.

As you can see from that picture, i have no start button. I dont know how to fix it, and im sure that leaving it on for 5 years at a time isnt good.
Theres no switch at the back to turn it off...
Theres no button on the front.
I've got 6 USB ports, 2headphone, 2 mic, and the generic keyboard/mouse/monitor shit.
How do i turn off my computer? it gets really hot in my room, and i want to go to bed without hearing HRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR the whole time.

How would i reboot? theres no button at the front or the back to press. not to mention no start menu button, if you looked at the off-site link.

Re: Im having a problem with my computer
Ctrl+Alt+Del
File > New Task (Run...)
Now, in that new field, type "cmd.exe", without the quotes, of course.
In this new window, input the following command:
SHUTDOWN -r -t 01
That will restart your computer, but your computer sounds super jank, and I am not sure if it will restart, instead it might just turn off and not turn back on. This sounds super bad, because, based on your OP, you said that there is no power button? So..... if it doesn't turn back on, you can blame me. But do not blame the command I gave you, that command works.

Re: Im having a problem with my computer
there should at least be some wires coming out of your mobo that you could touch together. a person in the gaming club here at cal poly has to do that. his computer crashes every time his phone rings, but that's a different story.

Re: Im having a problem with my computer
I FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION!
First take a screenshot of your desktop, then open it in photoshop/gimp/paint.net/MsPaint and draw a start button on it.
Save it and then set it as your desktop background. Hide the start bar and voila, the start button returns!

Re: Im having a problem with my computer
Tendo, have you even considered my idea? It appears as if you have yet to.
Re: Im having a problem with my computer
Well if this is what you could do. Turn off the computer by unplugging it from the wall. Then get a on/off button from best buy. put it on the computer. Then click it and walaah its fixed. That is the hard way. The easy way is to just have lots of videos on your computer running at one time. Porn videos preferably. lol And it will warm up so much. It will shut off by itself. If you try this and computer brakes. It' snot my fault.

Re: Im having a problem with my computer
Reinstall your OS. And get a computer fixer to fix that button. Let the technician install the OS for you if you don't know what your doing.
