Votebanned?!? WTF!

K guys...so with the influx of random people on the server lately it appears there has been some abuse of the votebanning system. In response we have made a few adjustments to the vote.

We changed it to 3 options now.
1. No
2. Nein
3. Yes!!!

We hope that this will prevent the 1 spamming that sometimes results in someone being votebanned when they have done nothing wrong. We also increased the number of votebans typed in chat that it requires to start the vote.

Please let me know if anyone notices any errors with this as I had to do something unorthodox to get it to work.

So that's where my first unborn son went!

Anyway, too bad there is no way for us to see who started a voteban, that way we could ban the voteban abusers or perhaps take away there right to vote.

I think you can see it in the logs.
The right to voteban cannot be set user specific.

I would replace "Nein" with a "NO U!" option to ban the person who initiated the vote.
That'd stop voteban abusers pretty quick, since they'd have to put their own ass on the line.

I agree with the "No U" opinion, it would be nice if they had to but their asses on the line too. I'm not aware of how high the current number of typed in "voteban"s needed, although if seems to be such an issue setting it higher? Also "votekick" should be proportional to the # of player, rather than a static two as miht pointed out

Starting a votekick vote takes 2 votekicks typed in chat but the number of yes's required for a kick is based on percentage taking into account the number of people in game.

Make it so that it takes 70% to ban someone but only 50% for a kick

It's been at 70% for a ban and 60% for a kick. I don't think 50% would work well.

james maybe come up with a no u option for number 1? peeople just spam on and the guy ALWAYS gets kicked

No U would be cool but the plugin has no way for me to add that option.

Maybe request this in the Alliedmods forum?

I can post for it. The topic on the plugin's forum has gone stagnant but hopefully someone can come up with something.
