I am thinking about making a site with forums and such but i don't know what to name it, any ideas?

Well, what is your site about? because the link has to be about the site. you can't call it like woodchuck.com and then have it a gaming site. So give us some info.

If it is on tf2 reviews and videos of tf2. Maybe there should be a link right here. www.pulpfortress.com It would make it more popular and it would be easy to go to. You could put like "TF2 Review Site".But if it has anything to do with a clan forum. Forget about this. But check with Eraserhead first. See if it a connection could be made with the website and PULP.

how are you planning to host this site? do you have a friend with a static IP and bandwidth to spare? or are you planning on going the dedicated server route?

Codewise I usually end up with tables since my HTML knowledge somewhere after 2001 and because they are easy to use. I am however experimenting with newer stuff which is why I bought that site in the first place.
As for hosting, you might want to buy a place on a a webhost. Less trouble, higher speeds and no real limits on what you can do. I have a host (including domain) for €25 ($60) a year which gives me 3000mb storage and a monthly 60gb download cap. Not sure however what you would need but you can always upgrade service plans when needed.

Agreed.

Use Wordpress as your homepage in default directory then create another directory for a forum.

I recommend you use phpBB for now and then later you can get something worth money like IPB or vBulletin.
