You fixed your mic, in other words updated the drivers? Try restoring it to an older point from before you got the BSOD. Another (easier) sollution is re-installing windows WITHOUT formatting your hard drive, that way you wont lose any files.

Most of the time bsod means a fault with your hardware, bad ram, or your harddrive on your laptop might not be in all the way, meaning it's hanging loose.

Those are my experience with bsod which I only get on laptops, on desktop pcs, I rarely get them.

Funfact: I only got it once on my laptop and that was because it was overheating, big time.

Anyway, most BSOD's I got on XP and before were because of failthy windows installations. Windows likes to mess itself up so just try to re-instal windows on it. Insert the CD/DVD in the drive, boot from CD/DVD-rom and reinstal it to c:\Windows. That way it will move the old windows files to windows.old (in case you need it) and you won lose any data. Hardware problems in a laptop is something I hardly hear about, mostly because it is secured and very much unmodable. Anyway, try both, even my mother can do this and she keeps asking me how to use word... and excel... and powerpoint... and windows... and the internet...

I've only done this once, and it stuffed all my old files in a new directory. Kinda neat.
I still am very fond of the slick cleanliness of a newly-wiped computer.
