I'm such a naughty boy

So my mom is a huge perfectionist and shes like "Schools in a week from now(senior year fyi) so im taking away your internet card so you can get ready" and its stupid because i hate parents who dont understand shit. What getting ready? putting my book bag together and folders and binders together takes 10 mins. And she's done this more then once too and im sick of it.


Guess what I did?


Walked 6 miles to radioshack, bought a new one, plugged it in(thats how im on right now) and BOOM HEADSHOT i got internet, course i gotta hide this wireless adapter from her.

I hate to relate to bullet but I have done almost the exact same thing. My mom tried to take away my internet USB stick once. I was afraid she'd do it again so I went to best buy and bought an internal network card. She knows I have it now because I had to give the USB stick to my brother but I don't care, she can't take it out or anything.

Honestly i'd rather my mom take away the USB stick then risk having her to do something else like smash it the computer.

It's a good move on you're part but what if she gets jarate\'d at your playing and she knows she cant do anything? one day when you're not home she might take away the whole computer physically which is worse then losing a simple USB stick.

Nah she won't cause I use it for school and shit. It's all good now, she knows I have the card and seems pretty neutral towards it.

lol same here. I got a B- in my report card last year. And she took my whole laptop for 3 months. She made me walk a mile just to go to the library to do research whenever I needed too. Learned my lesson.

Parents always have problems with technology but that's bevause most of them don't know shit about computers. In my case I often get complaints from my mom about how slow the family PC is. They always blame me because I am using my laptop thus making the PC downstairs slow (lolwut?). What she refuses to believe however is that she needs to replace that Pc with a new one because a PC from 2001 with Pentium 4 and only 256MB ram simply can not run the programs from today. I mean seriously, even VLC lags on that thing when showing a small avi file.

Another thing I hate is how she thinks she understands PC's because she once did a Word training course and just doesn't back off until I have prven she is a idiot;

My mom took my keyboard and mouse away one day. So I went and took hers and used them. She gave them back. Just gotta play dirty. Its like soda, my mom took mine away so I went and bought more and hid it in my drumkit.

When I first got my laptop I had the guest account active for my parents because of how shitty the family pc is (5 minute boot?!). My mom however isn't really careful and she dropped my laptop while it as was on. Luckily for me it has the Safedrive technology so the HDD is VERY shockproof and 'lifts the needle' when it notices a (sudden) change in axis/movement so nothing was broken. Anyway it is pretty needless to say that from that day on I tell them to sod off when they want to use my laptop especially because I have warned so many times when my laptop was about to fall.
Also, a PC/laptop is such a personal item that you don't want others to mess it (ruin your finetuning, install shity programs, finding your porn etc)

I agree Pepper. My parents treat my laptop like crap. If only they new they were destroying my life's work, when using it.

Doesn't change a thing when they sill fuck up the laptop itself by dropping, bumping and lifting it by the screen... No I like my solution better;

-Password protect your own account
-Winkey+l (lock) whenever you leave your laptop.

lollllll this is so recognizable! In fact you have triple terror here because not only are parents ignorant and afraid of technology you are talking about your mother here who is a woman haha. And thirdly she does not even admit she is a diginoob. Oh Epps, i for you.

Women are terrible when it comes to computers. They LOVE to blame you about everything that happens. My wife always starts nagging about problems with the internet and here laptop are always my fault.

omg women and computers. yuck. one of my clients is a non-profit organization that helps out underprivileged kids. noble company but the staff is SOLELY comprised of women! it can be majorly irritating. any minor issue is end of the world. yet when they completely fuck up a piece of equipment its not all that important. my wife can be bad too. she expects me to be able to make any piece of computer equipment do anything we want. when i explain to her that its just not how it works, she replies with, "well thats stupid!" like i have any say over how these international corporations design their products and software!

anyhow i have found a very simple equation online that explains women.

Seriously, she was studying a computer sciences related thing but she didn't knew anything about computers. For instance she thought windows was the only OS ever, that Open Source software is the same as Malware and she didn't even knew about Firefox. She killed a load phones by dropping them in the bath and the documents on her PC are all in one folder (how I sort files?). Just imagine the trouble I had finding that one episode of Greys Anatomy on her PC when everything is in the same folder...

Being a Korean and everything, I rarely argue/tell my parents what to do, because doing something like that would end very badly. I'm going to be living in a dorm this year anyways, so yippee kai yay for me.

I'm not very knowledgeable about computers myself. I didn't know jack shit until I was in the market for one. Yet everyone in my family thinks that I know everything, so when something goes wrong, I get the blame AND I have to fix it. Thins like the wireless internet dying (I don't use it), my dad's hard drive failing (How the fuck can a guy do that without trying?), etc.

It's really annoying.
