Melee mode revised Empty Melee mode revised

Melee mode is now different! The vote will still work to enable or disable, but...

If an engineer has a sentry built before melee mode is turned on. It will destroy the sentry instantly! (This one's for you Nico!)
A spy can now cloak.

There are some options I was curious as to how everyone would prefer them.

1. Enable spy disguise kit. Do you guys want this enabled?

2. Enable non-combat related items (bonk, medigun, kritzkrieg, jarate). Although the buff banner is technically non combat related item I believe the melee only plugin didn't receive any updates since before it came out so I'm not sure it would be enabled. Do you guys want this enabled?[strike]

perfect but I would perfr we still get stuff like honk and karate and spy cloak but please no medituns it gets so annoying whenin a melée battle, the people get toheal.

I wish it had that much customization possible. Unfortunately it's either noncombat weapons or no noncombat weapons. I don't get to choose which noncombat weapons. Sad

No, definitely not. They're not melee, and they make the round unfair. If you say "Heavy gets sandvich cause he's slow, and punches slower" well no, He gets 300 health for that. The Scout is a lot faster, but has a weaker weapon. Healing is stupid as well. This isn't "No-guns mode," it's Melee mode.

I think that if we allow these, it just means the other team just compensate, with getting their own. It would make meele a hell of a lot more boring if there was no other variable. If i want to play a hack and slash, i will play world of warcraft. If a team wants to go and grab and bonk and other weps, good for them. It is not like there is lost honor in it, rather an advantage both teams have access to.

I say let the non-combat weapons be allowed in our melees. The game was meant to be a shooter to start, so i think the argument of "No other weapons" is lame. It IS melee, but its NOT a melee game. Also, good people (such as that adam guy) and regulars don't like melee to start, so add something so they don't leave.

I can start a poll on the noncombat weapons. What about the spy disguise kit? Not sure how effective that can be. If my team scout runs right at me I am pretty sure it's a spy. Maybe I'm just not a good enough spy to think of a good strategy for this in melee mode.

Jump from tower, disguise as another class with powerfull melee, disguise as a medic.
However, don't forget to switch to a melee weapon when you disguise!

Sniper + sniper rifle during melee mode = Spy

I should search for emoticons for the weapons....

we can't use the quealizer.... when u get dmged oy udon;t get faster. same speed.

Ok it appears there is a bug in the plugin that allows someone to change their weapon and then hit a med cabinet to switch off of melee. I am going to be changing it back to the plugin that we were using before. Sorry I tried. Sad

I think i read something in the Alliedmods forum about those cabinets.

Btw: I have seen that with HLSW you can also destroy certain buildings of engineers so i think maybe we could also make a config file for this that level2 admins could use.

Yea but I thought that another programmer had posted a version that fixed it but after playing I noticed he didn't. Sad

Yeah, I noticed that too...
You don't go faster, but you still deal more damage. The Equalizer was seriously OP in melee-only, anyway, so I think this is a good fix (although probably an unintended one).
