PULP PC mag
PULP PC
Just an idea guys, I was thinking and wouldn’t it be cool to have a sort of {PULP} magazine, I’ve been on other forums (not for TF2) that had there on Online magazine we could do a {PULP} one, people right articles about computing, gaming and technology. They then e-mail one of the producers/editors (me maybe) who checks them and gives you feedback, and then you might re-write a bit. Then we put them all together (i have no idea how to do this) and we release once a month, I’m not sure how into this people would be but I think it would be really good, we could review games, DLC’s, technology and strategy maybe some interviews. Thing is I’m not sure how we would get our hands on these games but I guess we could interview some people in competitive tf2 (I know some Aussie div 1 and 2 players) and most of the time at least one person in the clan has the “latest hit” and they could write the article or they could tell a writer about it we could also do some previews. I’m not sure how many people would like this, but i think it would be great fun, nothing fancy, we could post it on the forums or maybe a hosted site (once again idk how to do this).
Thanks for Reading

Re: PULP PC mag
I'm game for this! I allready have proper experience with writing from school papers and various blogs (both Dutch and English) so count me in as a writer. My interests are mostly older games, music, movies and even books. Computer related Guides are also somethign I could do.
Anyway, how would you publish this? I would say a PDF file (MsWord exports pdf with a free plugin, OpenOffice also does that) since they are the same for everyone and have the least possible bugs.

Recent Game Reviewer section for me :p
I have a wii, a DS and a PS3 for the most recent consoles.
For the older ones, I have every single nintendo system and an atari 2600.

My sis wants to buy a Wii and I will be the one that's gonna hack it. As soon as she bought it I could do a guide on... ow wait, that's illegal xD
Re: PULP PC mag
This sounds cool. I could do something, I'm unsure at the time....
I maybe could do an article with inspiring quotes or something, to cheer ppl up or inspire them

nothing that you couldnt find on the interwebz
Also im amazed at how well this took off, i expected lots of critiscism and not many people wanting to get involved THANKS, so far ive got Epps on Music maybe and some older games, im thinking Games Revived as the title for that
NicoBBQ for recent games, seeing as you have PLENTY of consoles so i wide range of reviews would be possible.
Chuck im assuming that your just gonna be a writer. also do any of yo u have connections with any competetive gaming players it would be AWESOME to have an interview with them, i can MAYBE get us an interview an Australian TF2 competetive players. Also anybody else that would like just PM me or post it here.
thanks to all,

If this happens, put a big space in-between each issue. Better to have to wait to post it than to run out of ideas for articles and either post garbage or let it die.

Hack it, it is very worth it. And as long as you include BootMii in the guide, you win.Sgt Pepper wrote:My sis wants to buy a Wii and I will be the one that's gonna hack it. As soon as she bought it I could do a guide on... ow wait, that's illegal xD
Re: PULP PC mag
Anyway, someone needs to step forward as an editor. PDF would be the right format i guess. I'm not a very good writer, Pepper was the first person that came to mind when i read the first post. Everyone can particpate but someone needs to pull the cart, make sure there are enough articles, guard deadlines, etc.
Re: PULP PC mag
Agreed, i volunteer myself as a writer/interviewer(not sure if thats a word). i did think Pepper would make a good editor but im not sure if he has the spare time or wants to, so what do you say pepper want to be Editor?

I'll get back to this tomorrow after I have done some research on how to do this/installed and messed around with some special software for this.

Re: PULP PC mag
Aw great, downloading right now. Now off to bed >.<
Edit: Google gave me Adobe InDesign. From what I've seen it seems like the perfect program but here's the catch: Adobe just announched the CS5 suite like an hour ago which renders me unable to download trail versions from the CS4 suite directly from adobe. this means I will have to torrent it and almost all torrents of adobe products are filled with virusses/junk/spam/garbage.
Anyway, downloading from btjunkie right now (good site, good site).

Re: PULP PC mag
Since this will be an internet video. we could add clips of topstreaks or awesome looking kills. But we would have to record it.

Re: PULP PC mag
PDF = text with images, not a video like on gametrailers which would also be kinda cool to do (YouTube + webcam ftw). Ow and no, I am not going to learn how to edit video's, that's too much work.

Re: PULP PC mag
Did you guys see the latest update on www.teamfortress.com ?
For the second time they mentioned www.communityfortress.com They have something similar which they call moments of glory. We could just record demo's all day and make a special forum where people can request a certain moment of playing (super kill streak of just hilarious moment) and the server admins would look it up and someone else could edit it and put it on youtube. Only problem is that it takes a lot of time.
