Sub-Scrimteams
There should be more scrimteams but on different levels.
E.g. Scrim team lvl3 contains the elite of the elite and do the real matches
lvl2's compete with other lvl2's untill they get good enough to beat lvl3's so they can take over,
and the same with lvl1's (where you don't have to be really good to join).
So lvl1 teams just compete with eachother within the PULP clan untill they are good enough to be qualified as lvl2, the same with lvl2 teams and there is only ONE lvl3 scrimteam who competes with other clans. These lvl3 scrimteam members can give tips or help out lvl1's and lvl2's with tactics and such.
Like this, every member in the clan belongs to his/her own team with who they can bond with, since every team has (at least) slightly different tactics.

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
This seems like a really good idea, but it would take a lot of co-ordination with the players, as well as setting it up. Lets see what everyone else says.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
I like this a lot. Especially the bonding. What i've noticed during pugs and scrims it really doesn't work if you keep having new teammates each pug. In fact we have discussed setting up sub-scrimteams before and at the time we concluded that we didn't have enough clanmembers to do that. Looking now i see we have 30 members (i guess it will become more by the end of this month because we have a lot of pending applications):
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/pulp-elite
But of those 30 you have to look which of them like to play competitively.
Our forum also has a competitive players group which opens up certain invisible forums. I have just added you to this group Cake so you should now see more forums.

Oh awesome, thanks. But isn't this group for members only? I'm still an applicant.

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
I like the idea of this, but, wouldn't it scrap the idea of the following:
European Scrim Team
United States Scrim Team
I like the idea, but,it'd take a very long while for people to join the scrim teams.

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
What Jonesie said, besides it is hard to have a lvl 1, 2 scrimteam because we all live in differant timezones.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
There would just be multiple USA and EUR scrimteams. I agree that the levels may be a bridge too far right now. The thing is that it's important to play with the same people. Bonding. For instance as a medic i have good chemistry with Rich and Greezy as soldiers, but it was not great from the start, it takes some practice.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Yeah teams need to have some chemistry going on. Problem with medic is that sometimes people wont 'get you' or react when I ask who wants/needs your Uber. Ow the many times I had a charge ready but no one who wanted it....
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Are you talking about orange? Because in the pugs/scrims i never had this problem.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
If this idea were to work, what would that mean for the Scrim Teams that already exist?

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Is the european scrimteam complete yet? I guess thats just one of the scrimteams. For the USA i think we could make 2 or 3 teams right now which consists of the regular players and backup players. In pugs they could play against each other. But as you know, it's hard to organize them so that everyone can play....
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
No the European Scrim Team isn't complete yet because I'm waiting for the right people who have very good skill in Soldeir, Scout, Medic, Demoman. It'll take me a while to get the team COMPLETE!

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Well there is your answer then, it will take a while before we have 2 European scrimteams because now we don't even have one.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Well yeah I have discussed this before in another topic long time ago. But here is my old idea.
We could have the scrim team and then the sub scrim team. But only one sub scrim team. 2 would be too confusing. Then when one of the players from the scrim team couldn't make it. One of the sub or level 2 scrim team members would play in place of that player. But whatever job they have. They would practice with the sub scrim member to get the same chemistry before the scrim. Also if sub scrim team gets better they can replace the other team. To see which scrim team is better. They could have a scrim pug. Where it is only for scrim team member on any levels.
Also both scrim teams could practice by going against each other. Some sort of little battle. We could teach each other techniques and perfect the mistakes others have. This would include team work. And both scrim teams could act as one. This is much like Cake said but with a little more things added to it.
BTW we don't need a sub European scrim team if we can't have one. We could wait for more members to join and then create one.

Sounds good too, but we need the approval of more pulp members :]

I'm a decent medic if I say so myself... perhaps I should finally apply...Cpt Jonesie wrote:No the European Scrim Team isn't complete yet because I'm waiting for the right people who have very good skill in Soldeir, Scout, Medic, Demoman. It'll take me a while to get the team COMPLETE!
You're just saying that because the european team would kick the us team in the nuts with both legs tied together to a landmine!Furgus wrote:BTW we don't need a sub European scrim team if we can't have one. We could wait for more members to join and then create one.
Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Well with the way I have it structured right now, if you look at the scrim team manifest topic, you'll see that we have two and a half potential lineups, because I took the liberty of putting 1 or 2 backups for each class. I suppose if more people drop applications to the scrim team, we might have to remake the lineups to include new players like cake. In essence, the backups are like a second scrim team that we call on when people from the first are missing.

Re: Sub-Scrimteams
Furgus, the tag thing was already in my mind. This is the second time you read my mind, are you psychic dude?
Perhaps we can invite EVERYONE who have a k/d of >1.2 or so to join sub-scrimteams, so we'll have at least 10 more guys to join them. They don't necessarily have to be good, but these sub-scrimteams will be there to help each other out as stated before.

If were bringing in KD ratio to this party, I want my stats reset. Months of in the field spy training and hours of medic do not help KD... Mine's at about... .6, or so.

It's just a suggestion, we can try something else. Besides I think everybody will understand if you just explain it and maybe do a duel instead.
BTW ; Thanks again Eraserhead for fixing my headset's mic. I owe you one (more).

I reckon that the ESF may be able to kick SF's BUT! Just sayin'. Also Pepper or Epps, You can apply for ESF, but you can be a backup medic, we already have a starter medic.
