Here in the Netherlands we have something called het gedoogbeleid [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Basicly there are some rules which we ignore up to a certain point which is what we do with filesharing here on Pulp. I would also like to let you guys know that torrent files ARE NOT illegal and DO NOT contain any copyrighted material. Why do we still have that rule? Because that way we have an excuse to remove things we think are going to far.

tl;dr: stupid rule ignored by admins but here with a reason

ive always used i tunes cause where i am all the good media players are never for sale. I dont use itunes unless someone gives me a gift card for it. i found a way to mix free songs with itunes.if you want me to tell you how tell me but im sure all of you could figure it out.

Everything you do about music appears to be incorrect. Here is a list of things you should get:

Windows Media Player
VLC Media Player
uTorrent
Torrent smarts*

*"Where can I get torrent smarts?" You ask. Well, nearly every member on this forum can help you. But what you need to know is the following:
SORT BY SEED,
CHECK COMMENTS,
BANDWIDTH ALLOCATION < LOW

Good torrent sites include:

In order from best to worst.

Also, one more super important thing you need to understand is that downloading/torrenting copyrighted material is 100% LEGAL. The thing that gets people into trouble is uploading/seeding downloads, which is to say allowing people access to copyrighted material which is 100% ILLEGAL. However, the odds of getting caught are hardly considerable. But this does not negate the fact that it is risky. One thing you could do is cut off uploads (Comcast does this automatically), however, this is a very dishonorable thing to do, because then the torrent dies.

I hope other people can post and tell you some other pro-tips.

-K-Lite Codec Pack full with Media Player Classic.
-VLC for files MPC cant play (MPC plays what VLC can't/strugles with!)
-Winamp, Foobar, Billy, iTunes or WMP depending on what which one you like most (my case: Winamp Pro with custom skin and add-ons).
-Torrent smarts.
-MegaUpload/Rapidshare/Mediafire smarts.

Torrent smarts:
-Download from the best Seed/Leach ratio
-Open ports on your router for higher speeds
-ALWAYS seed to at least a 1.0 ratio
-Get to know crackers/rippers so you know what to expect.
-Sites: Demonoid, btjunkie, isohunt, piratebay, nipponsei, google custom search for torrent files!

-Google: "what you need" megaupload/rapidshare/mediafire
-4chan /rs/
