Lock the server temporarily?

The server is filled with players because of the update. This means it's hard to get on.

I voted yes. Clan members should have first priority on OUR clan server. Right? Maybe we can all help each other get the achievements. Take turns getting achievements/weapons for everyone else.

I vote yes as well. I really want to get the rest of the weapons, and help other people get theirs too.

By the way, how would locking the server work? Would it just have a password?

I'm in favor of locking (password protecting) the server so we can get on it ourselves.
Btw, am I the only one who's only interested in the demo's new weapons ?

you are definitely not the only one interested. I love the weapons! I just don't find them fitting for a demolitions man.

I didn't get a chance to play today but this weekend i will for sure and expect you guys to help me get achievements . I'm going for demo first and then soldier.

First im gonna focus on the server crashes, i heard from Fubar that other servers are crashing as well so must be a major bug in the update.

The server can be locked with a password but the few times i have monitored today it wasn't full so it doesn't seem neccesary. Also we should not forget that during this period it's an opportunity to get more new players on our server and let our community grow.

But if it gets that crowded we can't play normally ourselves we will lock it.

It really doesn't matter about the acheivements. I have all the achievements but i have no weapons. I have nothing.

How did you get the achievements? Fair play or through an achievement server?

I was afraid the finding system is still unchanged...

Firestar, when did you get the weapons? When you reached the milestone or on a random moment in time?

Most of them were fair play but the acheivements saying I had to kill 500 demos or that take just too long I went to an achievement server.

first off, something went wrong with mine. I got the sword when the inv. came back up the first time. I had reached the 1st and 2nd milestones just before. I reached the third and got nothing. As of now, I still have yet to find the Targe or the Resistance.

But: I was playing with Hyce777 and a few others on an achievement run, on one of his maps. I got all the soldier milestones, and the weapon right after i died. At one point, I hit the 2nd milestone, and died. It didn't notify me of unlocking the buff banner, but when I checked my inv, it was there. So Dark Soul, and anyone else that had this problem, just check your inv. It might be there, even if it didn't notify you.

I was lucky enough to get all my weapons yesterday night. I was even lucky enough to get the Direct Hit without finishing the third soldier milestone. Guess the bug favors me.

PS I LOVE the Eyelander and the Direct Hit. The Direct Hit reminds me of the crossbow from Half-life 2 and hl2dm. Easy Kills.

Only the crossbow in HLDM has a zoom and this one doesn't right?

I got 1 demo milestone today but no weapon unlock for me

I checked my inventory but got nothin still. I got no weapons yet but I have all the achievments. I even went to an idle server and left my pc the whole night and got nothing.

huh. Valve really needs to work on these updates before releasing them.

What does an idle server do?

I went to an achievementserver once and the effect it had is that i never got any hats until recently i got one. So my advice is never to go to achievement servers. I think the developers of Valve have a way of punishing people who do.

Well since you get the weapons randomly.{its not according to milestones} People then created a server where you could stay in-game and leave your pc on on TF2 while you go t work or sleep so then you could get the weapons by just standing at spwan. I did that for a night got nothing. All I got was my computer froze.

Lol thats not very nice. But did you find any other items. So with an idle server you can find items that you can use for crafting? I'm gonna try it.

Yeah one really good server is Achievement Linux server. Its like a idle server and an achievement server. You create your own bots and then there are also different commands. Like !godmode, !crits, !uber, and like there are console rooms if you want. But like you could stay in the server all day and you wont be kicked out. It's pretty good but it's kinda difficult to get in because there are so many bots.

I got the targe for the demo after reaching the first milestone... Trying to get the others as well, but just by playing in game like I do with all achievements. It's more fun to have some on you HUD and trying to get them without getting any help...

Anyway, after the whole Cheaters Lament thing I stopped idleing. I did it with steamstats rigth after I got this game. I got slaughtered over and over by people with better weapons. That and I sucked big time
