Talking Server for PULP?
Well, I have heard Eraser talk about a Ventrilo server, but I know a way that pulp can save money, and not have to keep a computer on all the time. It is called GSC. It is an online talking program (much like ventrilo) but it has some more features. You can make different channels, for different things. Also channels can be passworded so only admins can have a channel, etc. Also, there is a chatbox, so all you non mic people out there can still talk. So PULP, what do you think of GSC?
Also, a big feature of this is that it is FREE, and its not hosted from a computer, they host it. FREE!

I am free if you are a hot girl
Anyway, I dont see the point of having an external voice chat but ow well, guess it's just me.

Well, it is just a suggestion.

In accordance to this, with a few key strokes, I could easily hijack this thread.Sgt Pepper wrote:I am free if you are a hot girl
I agree. Maybe if we were scrimming with other clans, instead of domestic pugs, then I could easily see this coming to fruition.Sgt Pepper wrote:Anyway, I dont see the point of having an external voice chat but ow well, guess it's just me.
Re: Talking Server for PULP?
I have given the voice platform some thought before Havik posted this but i still don't understand the popularity of ventrilo and similar services. Whats wrong with the builtin voice feature of TF2? During our pugs i haven't noticed any disadvantages. In fact, it prevents the hussle of players participating having to login on two different servers.

You could also hang out there when your not playing tf2 but your on the computer?

Re: Talking Server for PULP?
I am always in Ventrilo with George Costanza and Biggsly when I play. Advantages of external:
-Adjustable volume independent of game sounds
-Clearer sound
-Easily accessible private chatting
-Team-oriented
-Talking about people behind their backs
-Talking outside-of or in-between games.
That being said, in-game is fine for most purposes. External is just pretty cool too.

Re: Talking Server for PULP?
The teamchat appeals to me. Right now you can adjust voice volume too in TF2 options.
Re: Talking Server for PULP?
Its a wonderful Idea but, what will the advantage be to us having a talking server?

I'd recommend mumble if you need a voice chat software. It's got good voice quality, it doesnt raise your ping and positional audio. Positional audio means that you can hear where your teammates are positioned when they're talking.

Positional audio seems very cool. Do you have experience with this Tidelag?
