Bethesda Weekend Sale on Steam! Empty Bethesda Weekend Sale on Steam!

Post by Epps 10/6/2010, 11:34

Thats right wankers, another great sale on Steam just started! Of course the Steam Store wants to make a profit on the Euro so if you want to know the US dollar prices, just replace the "€" with a "$".
-Fallout New Vegas: €49,99
-Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition: €24,99
-Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Game of the Year edition: €8,50
-Elder Scrolls 3 Game of the Year edition: €5,00

Anyway, I finally bought Fallout 3 and Oblivion, two games which I have enjoyed but never payed for because of the price. I dont want to pay more than €30 for a game (just not worth it), especially for an old game.

It sure is although I am not installing/loading Mothership Zeta. From all the Fallout 3 DLC Mothership Zeta makes no sense at all. It felt so out of place to get taken away from the wasteland to some alien spaceship...

I agree, and it was the one I was looking forward to the most. It was just.... grinding, and constant fighting with aliens. And that last "space ship battle" was just you pressing a button faster than they could -__-

When does this 8,50 euro offer end? I've torrented it once but I removed it later. I really want a copy of it now.

I torrented FO3 and all its expansions. I did absolutely everything possible in that game, but I don't plan to buy it, regardless of its incredibly generous $25. I will make up for it by buying New Vegas via pre-order sometime within the next 7 days, and by buying all the DLC.

I allready completed everything in FO3 myself but I use a schedule when it comes to games:

Code:
Hear/find out about a new game.
                          V
                    Download ISO
                          V
                      Play Game
                    V          V
                Liked it?    Hated it?
                    V          V
              Does it has    Delete ISO,
                  DLC?      play new game.
            V      V
            Yes    No
            V      V
      Wait until  Wait until
      game+DLC    game costs
      costs <€30    <€30
Of course this doesn't apply to multiplayer games, with those I just buy them right away/play a demo in advance. Still, I am not willing to pay €60 for an online shooter, especially because those do stupid DLC like map packs for €5~€15 which is imo insane.

Fucking.... even typing out its acronym brings back all the pain and hate that game has inflicted upon me. IW can piss right off.

i found that mw2 is a great way to explore the psyche of the people that play those kind of games. there are so many ways to piss them off just by playing the game.

Well, MW2 is the shittiest game on the face of the planet, and there are a plethora of reasons. I could delve into it, but it would take a bit of typing, and I am sure google has all the reasons that I know. Loads of people share my feelings about MW2.

Yeah seriously. That game sucks. And what Adam says, the people that play it are undesirable as well.

I dislike how overhyped it is and how all the players (mostly 13 year olds) are acting like it's the best game EVER. Also:
-Unfair deaths/unbalanced weapons,
-(on console) Lobby that doesn't check your ping before it puts you into a game (lol 439 ping)
-Usergroup mostly made out of young teens (aka 13 year olds) who keep screaming HAX, unfunny meme's and whine about everything.
-DLC for new maps which are basically modified versions of the maps you get with the game.

So in overall the things stopping me from playing MW2 it is the usergroup and the 'realism' since I have allready played enough of the same looking war shooters back in my PS2 days.

- Rewarding players who have been playing longer with more powerful weapons, while giving noobs no advantage, hindering progress
- Complete lack of in game tactics, because you spawn randomly. It's very hard to organize a full out team assault, and holding a base isn't really practical either.
- Maps are not well thought out and unbalanced. It's purely aesthetics.
- Many elitists, annoying young, nooby community that doesn't really understand anything besides trying to kill each other.
- You have to pay for maps that should have already been included in the game.
- Dev support is sub par.
- Repetitive game dynamics
- Rewarding people with large kill streaks things like chopper gunners. This is so completely retarded.

When I noticed you were rolling off why MW2 sucks I was planning on quoting and bold facing the worst of the worst, but they are all just so bad, I can't make the whole thing bold face!

All I really need to say is the following:
IWNet FUCK OFF.

By the way, to anyone who has the game installed on Steam, whether it be through a purchase, torrented, or free weekend, you can download a thing called AlterIWNet where you can play with other people using AlterIWNet. It is sorta like LANing so you have to set it up, but it is fairly straightforward.

Oh, and, we really jacked this thread -__-
