Rotation Server

No one really plays it but when we start it up, and the rotation is very weird, the following are things we should do to it to make the server better:

Pick a good rotation, good rotations would be ones like an arena rotation, payload rotation, dm rotation, and for us on the scrim team, a rotation of maps we will need to play soon. My personal favorite would be arena rotation.

Give some active people who like the server admin. It is a known fact people with admin will play on a server more. Just saying.

Make the server more competitive, somehow someway, it will draw more people in, guaranteed.

I agree somewhat. Arena would be great. It would bring competitveness to the server. But I would make a variation of maps. First I would see what are the most played maps in tf2. Then I would pick the maps from there. Also, I would put a time limit on each map. At the last round of the map, there would be a vote for people to choose maps.
Ex:
1. Extend map for 10/20 minutes.
2. Goldrush
3. Koth
4. Badwater

Would be nice to have a regular group of players to play on our server.

We did have a timelimit on the server before, but it's better to just keep a map until people get bored of it then rtv.

If we want competitive people, we rotate competitive maps.

Badlands
Granary
Freight
Yukon

etc.

If we want it to fill up with newbies, we rotate popular maps. Goldrush, 2fort, Dustbowl, etc.

Well, I used to be in a clan, where they opened a rotation server. They created a map rotation for newbies. when they got a regular crowd every single day. They little by little changed the maps. Until now, which all there maps play competitive.

But I hope you know that by making the server competitive, it will be a lot harder to fill it up with a regular crowd.

Also, I was thinking, of the No heroes server. As you may know there server is always full. And when someone joins, but are occupying a reserved slot. It says right away on the corner of the screen: "No heroes recommends you to switch server. Click f3." And it also says the Ip address. Then you click f3 and you go into another less filled up server. Maybe when the orange server is full. We could send the people waiting into the rotation server. Then maybe we could get a regular crowd. Maybe this is not needed, but it is just an idea.

Also, we could host events in the rotation server. Don't ask me what kind of event. Maybe call it PULP Reunion. And this would be for Pulp member's and for applicants. That way we could get to know the applicant's and as well as fill up the server. With any other outsiders that roam into our server.

I think PULP would like a low competitive server the best, but how does one acquire such, that is the question

When people what to play orange, they want to be on an orange server not a rotation.

Well it worked out well for the no heroes server. There servers are almost always filled up.

Well, they are not that bad. The only thing I hate is the gravity on their orange server. But they got some pretty good people playing on that server.

Also it should be a rotation other than just a rtv.

Guys back on topic, we want to make the server a little competitive but not too much so that everyone is getting dominated, and we want more people to play on the server.

i've always wanted to lower the rtv limit, it's way too high

So anyone got any ideas?

I think we should just go back to rotating, noobs won't rtv regardless of the limit

I think we should transform the rotation server into a FUN server. Maps like ZF_fortress, MeleeMode, TF2Ware, Soccer, Basketball, Jump Maps.

I think we should transform the rotation server into a JUMP server. Because pro people jump.

How about changing it to a ammomod server. There are very few ammomod servers, and they always got very skilled people.

how about spliting it into 2 servers 1 ammomod 1 jump o r1 ammomod 1 deathmatch.

Spliting the server would be a valid option, 2 12 man servers or something like that, would require a bit more money though

We can't turn it into 2 servers because we don't have the funds.

We're not going to turn it into ammomod because there's already one by thenoid/AG and it attracts all the pros, and doesn't fill up often. It's a saturated market.
