Great Rusty! I'm not quite sure what class you'll play, I think I saw you as scout on the server earlier but could I get confirmation on that?

After chatting with Fubar i removed him because this time is 04:30 his time. He thought it was 10:30 GMT. Next time it's perhaps better to write 10:30 PM EST (GMT -5).

Re: Friday the 26th, Night Owl Pug
Yes very good pug yesterday and great fun. We had 6vs6 teams and no early dropouts so that was great!
I was late and that's because the timezone converter told me that it would be at 00:30 hrs my time. For some reason it keeps telling me that EST to GMT-3 = this:
10:30:42 p.m. Saturday March 27, 2010 in EST converts to
12:30:42 a.m. Sunday March 28, 2010 in GMT-3
Can anyone help me out with this mystery? Last night the pug had 1 hour difference to my local time which was 23:30 at that moment.
Anyway about the pug:
Wrech team vs Erasers
Badlands 5-1
Granary 5-0
Gravelpit 0-1
Well 1-5
Fastlane 2-5
So we played 5 maps!! After this we chilled out with 4 people on Turbine and that was it.
What have i learned (red team)?
Team setup
We had in our team: medic, scout, demo, 2 soldiers and a heavy. Thinking back on this i think the two soldiers and heavy is what killed us. I remember when i was medic and trying to heal Cedric (heavy) and it took ages for me to heal him, i could not pay attention to the other soldiers and with the midpoint on Granary it was easy for scouts to flank cedric and shoot me in the back. I think heavy can be effective in that map but only on last and 2nd/4th point. On the mid battle heavy wasn't very effective. I have seen this in earlier pugs too. I am still convinced that 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, medic and demo is best for midbattle. On the other points other classes are good, like sniper or heavy. I also think that if only have the last point left to defend (which caps really fast) it might be nice to have two demomen (with stickies on the point).
Tactics
Our team lost the battle on badlands and granary. Some say it was because Wrech was in the opposing team and tore us up. True that guy is awesome and did a good job. But as a team we made some mistakes:
1.We did not move as a group. Some of us went right and some left. The medic was lost on who to heal and where they were. Some players got completely separated from the group and were easy targets from Wrech and SATS. The only players that should roam far from the group are scouts so they can do backcaps and we only had one scout whole the time!
2.When players got killed and re-spawned they immediatly ran forward and got killed again instead of re-grouping so we could push as a team. Later on during Well and Gravelpit we did this much better.
3.We had some useless classes at some points like engineer and pyro but that was just for a brief moment but can create a cricitcal moment of weakness.
4.At some moment i started playing medic but i had to switch to the medigun and took me about 5 seconds but my whole team had moved forward in the meantime without me as medic lol. They got butchered.
5.A new tactic can be for the soldier to use the paintrain so he can cap faster. We have to try this out on the next pug. I think team blu can tell us because they had someone using it.
6.SATS played clever on Badlands by going into our base as a scout and shooting us in the backs, no one was expecting that
Please everyone tell us what you think!

Re: Friday the 26th, Night Owl Pug
I had a blast! Thanks everyone for playing in our Night Owl Pug. Hopefully we can make it a repeating event!
@erasers (red team): Yea I also feel that we needed some warming up. We didn't have any chemistry going because we were warming up during the match. This threw us off big time. When we decide on our scrim team we should also decide on a team to play against before the scrim starts.
The pug was recorded but for some reason Badlands didn't record. I have to look into why this happened. I will test a lot to try and make sure it doesn't happen again. If anyone wants a copy of the recordings click on the link below. It's a 30 MB file so keep that in mind if you don't have a fast internet speed. The recordings came out great! You can follow any player and hear both teams. If you need help figuring out how to play them just pm me.
